Hidden Truth Defence Layers
To avoid being discredited as a fake, the Narcissist protects one key secret at all costs. In Emergency Medicine that secret is “I'm acting” — guarded by concentric layers of obstruction.
The model
An experienced Narcissist has many support techniques to cover his deceptive lifestyle and false actions, so he is well equipped to frustrate diligent, structured clinical assessment. Unlike a Court of Law, he is not compelled to submit to every medical test or answer every question. Favourite key tactics are delay, diversion, distraction, conflation, or simply talking all the time about unrelated, even random subjects.
“At point of anger, the impenetrable Dam wall bursts — this verbal Leakage is better out than in. The mask has dropped.”
“Has a patient ever turned an assessment into an inquisition — making you feel like the aggressor?”
The App identifies DARVO (victim-offender reversal — Prof. Jennifer Freyd, 1997) in real time and gives you documented, defensible clinical responses.
The concentric defence shell
From the outermost armour to the innermost core. The Medic works inward; at the Anger layer the Dam wall bursts and the Truth leaks out.
In the first 5 layers (Distraction → Refusal to Answer) the Medics already have the data they need. At Anger, Wily can't shut up — the condition becomes secondary to justifying abuse.
When the Dam wall bursts
The Medic faces a tight-lipped, wily opponent — the Wily Narc — who is not a proper patient. At the point of anger, the impenetrable Dam wall bursts. This is an inversion point where Wily can't now shut up. As with bodily waste products, unpleasant certainly, but this verbal Leakage is better out than in. The mask has dropped and you are looking at the real, unpleasant image.
Suddenly the condition becomes secondary to attempts to justify abuse and complaints — compelling evidence that the “emergency” is less important than forcing his will upon your obedience.
Reaching the Eureka moment
The Emergency Medic's mission is to efficiently establish and extract facts to enable relevant treatment. If the patient is dishonest, the mission becomes getting to the Eureka moment of truth as soon as possible — cutting through the Narcissist's deliberate Fog of obfuscation and disinformation.
How to recognise it
- Direct questions meet delay, diversion or conflation.
- Selective refusal of tests an acute patient would accept.
- Anger arrives the closer you get to the core fact.
- Focus shifts from the “emergency” to justifying abuse.
